We called in for a late lunch whilst out house hunting. We chose thistle and thyme based on others reviews. First impressions weren't that great - not the most attractive exterior but the inside is great - informal but attractive. The menu is pretty good. The staff are lovely and the food is very good (and reasonably priced). We really enjoyed our visit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Really lovely little oasis, we stopped on the way up north for a coffee and couldn't help trying the cakes too! Dog friendly and the owner was so lovely. A really nice quiet space to just have a break. If we're coming back this way on the way back down then we'll definitely be stopping in again!

We went to the Thistle and Thyme on a whim to avoid sitting in traffic. What a lovely surprise, lo felt owner with an array of cakes, I had the lentil and butternut soup, the bread roll was homemade (baked in a flower pot) it was absolutely delicious. The owner said that she'd been a chef all her life.....

On our way North from the Newcastle ferry we stopped for a lunch. This cafe was the closest by when we got tired of the traffic, and we caught a break! We had a lovely tasty lunch with paninis and very friendly service. Do not hesitate to drop by!

Got a quick cappuccino. Outdoor seating is very cozy and keeps you out of the weather. Definitely a gem.
